Censored Image: Blur, Pixelate, or Redact an Image
Censored Image lets you place rectangles over sensitive parts of a picture and fill them with Gaussian blur, pixelation, a solid color, or a black bar. Draw multiple regions, undo the most recent one, or clear them all. Downloaded exports are re-encoded, which drops the image’s original metadata. Use the downloaded copy wherever you need the edited image.
Censored Image is a browser-based image censoring tool for covering sensitive areas in a picture. Use it to draw one or more rectangles over regions you want to edit, then fill those regions with an effect. It is useful for quick image changes when you do not want to install a photo editor.
Choose Gaussian blur, pixelate, solid color, or black bar as the effect for the regions you mark. If you make a change you do not want, undo removes the last region; clear removes all regions. When you download the result, the image is re-encoded, and its original metadata is dropped.
Images can contain details that are not suitable for every audience or context. Censoring selected regions can help prepare a screenshot or other picture for a ticket, document, or presentation. The exported image is re-encoded rather than being the untouched original, so its original metadata does not carry through.
Censored Image runs entirely in your browser, and the image is processed on your device; nothing is uploaded, stored, or sent to a server. It is free and works offline once the page has loaded. Developers, DevOps engineers, support teams, and anyone who needs to quickly censor part of an image can use it without installing a photo editor.
Step 1: Drop your image into Censored Image to load it in the browser.
Step 2: Choose the effect you want to use: Gaussian blur, pixelate, solid color, or black bar.
Step 3: Draw a rectangle over each sensitive region you want to censor. You can add one or more regions.
Step 4: Undo removes the last region, while clear removes all regions if you want to start over.
Step 5: Download the edited image. The export is re-encoded, so the original metadata is dropped.
Use case: Make a one-off image edit without installing a photo editor. Draw a rectangle over the area and apply the effect you need.
Use case: Prepare a screenshot before adding it to a support ticket or document. Censor sensitive regions so they are not plainly visible in the shared image.
Use case: Test an effect on a copy before committing it to the real asset. You can try different regions and clear them if you want to start again.
Use case: Cover an email address or account detail in a screenshot before sharing it with a team. A solid color or black bar can make the covered area easy to identify.
Use case: Censor personal details in an image before including it in internal documentation. The tool provides a quick way to mark the relevant regions without installing an editor.
Use case: Apply blur or pixelation to a selected part of an image used in a presentation. Export the edited image after placing rectangles over the areas you want to censor.
